Talented Neighbors

I just went to a little "boutique" on my neighbor's lawn. See, there are TONS of talented ladies in our neighborhood and they all create different things... so my neighbor had tables out and then other neighbors were selling their stuff. WHAT A GOOD IDEA! So, I bought the cutest bag and matching compact bag from Becky Driggs. She has an Etsy store, so check her out. This bag is my new diaper bag. Have you heard of MODBE? I hadn't either. They sell cute swimming suits and some select other items (jeans, shirts, dresses, accessories). CHECK THEM OUT TOO!

I am so lucky to live by all these talented ladies.

Silly Cammers

I can't believe Cam is 3 months old TODAY! Time goes by so fast. I know that in a while I'll be writing,"Cam is going to Kindergarten, my how time flies!"

Anyway, here's my little Cammers just happy as can be.

Max requested that I take this picture last night. This is what he said,"Oh MOM! Get the camera! I'm laying by Cam and I love him!"

Calling ALL Bloggers!

Ok, this only seems fair BUT if you have a blog that you have to be invited to view, it is only fair if you invite me to view your blog if you are viewing mine (brownstallions.blogspot.com). See, because I don't know who you are but you might know me and it will just be all the more fun if we all know each other. Right?

Milestone #3

CAM IS SLEEPING THROUGH THE NIGHT!!! It's now been 2 nights in a row that Cam has slept through the night. I have been waking up so refreshed that I don't know what to do with myself. 3 milestones in May. Have the stars aligned or what?!
Cam looks cross-eyed in this photo, but I assure you, he is not. :o)

Another MILESTONE!

Yes, 2 milestones in one month. What is this new milestone for our family? Max finally gave up his binky. Well.... Chris and I have just been so sick of it and Max cries for it at night and at nap time... so, yesterday, after he got up in the morning, I said,"Go put your binky in the drawer." This is normal protocol for us. The problem is that Max knows where it is so he gets it out periodically throughout the day and then I have to tell him to put it back. Anyway, yesterday after he put it away, I moved it to the top of the fridge. When it was nap time, he went to the drawer and started freaking out saying,"Where's mah binky??!!!" I told him, with a straight face,"Oh, the binky elf took it. He said to tell you hello." Max just looked at me puzzled and said,"Ok." So, he took anap without the bink... I had to fill Chris in on this so that he didn't wreck anything. So, when it was night time, Max again went to the drawer and said,"Where's mah binky?" Then he answered his on question and said,"Oh yeah, the elf took it." YESSSSsssss! There were no more tears and everything was hunky doory! Chris was sure Max would wake up in the night crying for it because that happened some times when he'd lose his binky during his deep sleeps... But nope. When he got up this morning, he came into my room and said,"Mom, the elf took my binky." I said,"Yep." And he just shook his head as if to agree with me and that was that. NO MORE BINKY! Everyone should go out to dinner to celebrate!

New Milestone

We've reached a new milestone with Cameron: He has now slept in his own room, in his "big boy" crib for 2 nights now. Cam is a really light sleeper and I have suspected that all the random noises that Chris and I make in the night were waking him up. Chris does some pretty funny things in his sleep. He sings, walks around, makes food (sandwiches), complains to me about WEIRD stuff, and even carries on full conversations with me. Some of my most favorite "Sleeping Chris" moments are:

* One time, shortly after Max was born, Chris hopped out of bed and started ripping all our covers off. The conversation went like this:

Chris {yelling}: Where is he?
Jane: Where is who?
Chris: Max?!
Jane: In his bed.
Chris: No he's not! He's in our bed somewhere!
Chris was still pulling off all the covers. He even tipped me over looking for Max. This went on every couple of weeks for 3 months. It's pretty funny now and Chris never remembers doing any of this.

* Before Chris and I got married and he still lived at home, his brother told me that Chris was sleeping walking and started rummaging through their closet.

Adam: What are you doing?
Chris: Looking for my Halloween costume.
It was nowhere near Halloween so that was really funny.

* About a year ago, Chris started singing a really funny song from South Park. It had some choice words in it, so I won't type it here, but it was really funny. He totally belted out a couple of the lines from the song and then went back to sleep. I always start laughing when he does things like this.

* I received a lecture about how servers work and how companies computers are networked. YAY for me!

* The other night Chris just started laughing and I said,"What's so funny?" He said,"That Robert Kitchen sure is funny." That is true, but it was even funnier because Chris was totally asleep.

Chris' "sleepy" moments are really funny and I thoroughly enjoy them. :o)

Here are some more black and white photos of our super cute kiddos. I JUST LOVE THEM!

Photography by Kensley

Great job KENSLEY!

Max was a bit of a toughy because he didn't really want to take pictures. He really just wanted to eat fruit snacks, watch cartoons, and play Legos. Notice how there aren't a lot of photos of him? Cam was pretty funny. The photo shoot started out with some tears and Cam not really wanted to be posed... then, there were lots of smiles, hence the GQ poses. After that, I took all his clothes off and tried to get some cute shots out of him... all he'd really so is raise his hand like he had something to say. It was pretty funny. All in all, I think it turned out really great and I've got a lot of cute shots to pick from.

2 Month Doc Visit

I can't believe Cameron is already 2 months old! It's CRAZY!!! Well, after 5 shots, Cam is pretty tired, so he can't tell you his results. I'm not tired, so I'll tell you.

Length: 22 in = 25 percentile
Weight: 11.5 lbs = 50 percentile
Head Circ: 40 cm = 50 percentile

I asked if Cam seemed short for his age and his doc said no. OK, GOOD! Yes, I am paranoid that my kids will get my height. Max is almost as tall as me and he's 2.5 years old, so I'm not worried (yes, I'm kidding, but he is tall for his age).

Ok, no more posts for today.

Happy Cam = Happy EVERYONE

So, many of you have heard me explain the stress of having a cranky baby... Cameron is the cutest baby and I love him so much, but since he's been home from the hospital, there have been more hard nights with him than good. Usually during the day, he'd be great - eat every 4 hours, then nap until the next feeding. At night, he'd just scream and we couldn't figure out what was wrong. We'd feed him, change him, rock him, walk him, even drive around in the car with him. Sometimes he'd fall asleep, but mostly, he'd just cry from one feeding time to the next. It was making our world VERY hard... Chris and I were both super tired all the time and even getting cranky ourselves and with each other. Max wasn't dealing with it well either. He was acting out and making my life as a stay-at-home-mom super hard.

The other day, we received a free sample of formula in the mail. It was from Enfamil and read: For Fussy & Gassy babies. Cam is both of those, so we thought we'd try it. After I fed Cam, I gave him an addition 2 oz's of the formula. MAGIC! HAPPY BABY! Cam was happy and calm after eating. He even laughed and smiled for an hour after eating and then he fell asleep. It was just crazy! We've been giving him the formula for a couple of days now and everything is SO much better. He's breastfeeding less and drinking more formula, but if that's what it takes to have a great baby and a great home life, SIGN ME UP! So, to all those of you that are pulling your hair out because your baby won't sleep, go try this formula. If you want, come over to my house and make a bottle. SERIOUSLY!
