Dr. Harold Brockbank

Last Saturday was Max's first trip to the dentist. This trip became mandatory when Max decided to hop in and out of the tub over and over and thus, fell and chipped his tooth. It doesn't look bad, but still, we were concerned. Our dentist is my dad's best friend from High School, so, we'll refer to him as Uncle Harold from now on. :o) Uncle Harold, or to Max - Gr'Uncle Harold (he's a great uncle now since he was my uncle... if you have questions about this, please contact me), is a great dentist. Max was terrified, but Uncle Harold explained all of the things he'd be doing: counting Max's teeth, washing them, and tickling them. Wow, the dentist almost sounds fun! Anyway, Max was SO scared (notice the pictures) but Chris was holding on to him, so Max knew he'd be safe. Chris and I kept laughing (discretely, of course) at all the faces Max was making. Uncle Harold kept asking Max questions to help him relax and Max refused to move or even make a noise. My favorite part of the visit was when Uncle Harold was going to clean Max's teeth with the tool that they dip in fluoride and it spins around your tooth. Do you know what I'm talking about? Anyway, before he did that he put it on Max's finger, turned on the tool, and Max's finger began to spin around the tool. It was hilarious. Chris and I were laughing so hard and Max didn't even crack a smile. Who's kid is this?! Anyway, Max did ok, no cavities and he's got all his teeth. After the cleaning, Uncle Harold squirted water in his mouth and said,"Swish and spit," but before he could finish his 3 words, Max had already swallowed the water and had requested another drink. Oh well, it won't hurt him. Then, the best part of all: Max got to pick out a new toothbrush! He was STOKED! Of all the toothbrushes to pick, Max chose a sparkly purple one that had a picture of Garfield on it. How random. All in all it was a good trip.
Chris was next.
Guess what, no cavities for him either! Hooray! I didn't need my teeth cleaned yet since I went a couple of months ago. A useless fact about me is that I've never had a cavity. *Knock on wood*

JANE!!! Hello! Your kids are so cute. I don't think I ever even got to see Max after he was born. You were pregnant when we moved. We live in Riverton now. How do you like Eagle Mountain?
